Since the board of directors have started their duty in 2004 , works for the expropriation of the parcels of parties has begun , and in two years with the support of the industrialists and without using any stimulation or loans MTOIZ Expansion Area  has come up to the conclusion.

The Expansion Area situated 3 km west side of Tarsus Mersin’s Organized Industrial Zone within the boundaries of Bahçeli Municipality , and its closeness to one of Turkey’s Largest port and free zone will provide great advantages to the industrialists and therefore enrich the present sectoral dispersion of the zone.

At the end of year 2006 with the approval of the public improvement plans , on 278 hectares of land in between 5000 square meters and 115.000 square meters 47 industry parcels have been developed

41% of the Zone is assigned for industrial parcels , 9% is assigned for streets and parking lots, 16% is assigned for healthcare, 18% is assigned for afforestation , 5% is assigned for lanscaping purposes, 3% is assigned for purification facility , 2% is assigned for technical infrastructure lands , 3% is assigned for education and sports facilities and 1% is assigned for administrative and social facilities.

Allotment process of the Zone continues rapidly ; construction of industrial facilities and infrastructure works planned to go through jointly. In a near future with the intensive demand ostensibly , thousands of new job oppurtunities will arise for locals and region will gain another industrial zone which  will play an important role for the regions economical development.
